Connie Britton takes sides in abortion fight

Hey y’all, Connie Britton has a message for you about abortion.

The actress has partnered with the Planned Parenthood Action Fund to create T-shirts protesting new laws that would limit access to abortion in Texas.

The shirts, available for purchase online, say ““WWTTD? What Would Tami Taylor Do?” on the front with the website “standwithtexaswomen.org” on the back.

Britton played Tami Taylor, a Texas mom, on the TV show “Friday Night Lights.”

In a press release, Britton described her character as “a woman deeply committed to her community and to standing up for what is right for her neighbors and the people she loves.”

In one episode, Taylor is supportive of a young woman who decides to have an abortion. And Britton takes the same stance off-screen.

"I have been inspired by how people around the country have united to stand with the women of Texas," the actress said, urging others to oppose the laws. "And I can't help but think that, in this moment, we all have the opportunity to join with and become strong, powerful Texas men and women."

On a related note, there’s been a push online for Britton to play Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis in a would-be movie about the fight.
