Trump stars in Fox ad for U.S.-Mexico soccer match

Donald Trump is the star of another soccer ad — only this time, it's a U.S. network using his words to pump up America's team.

Fox Soccer is running clips from Trump’s speeches touting American strength in a promo ad for the U.S. and Mexico soccer match Oct. 10.

“We’re gonna have a little fun tonight. I love the Mexican people. They have amazing spirit.” Trump says in the ad. “Our country has tremendous potential, and these are the best and the finest. Bigger, better and stronger and we will make America great again,” Trump’s voice continues as a series of U.S. soccer team successes are shown.

The clip also takes Trump’s expressive hand motions and puts them on repeat to convey excitement.

The U.S. promo comes a month after Azteca, a Mexican TV channel, used clips of Trump’s speeches in an ad to fire up their Mexican fans.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending they’re best — they’re not sending you,” Trump says in the ad. “Our country is in serious trouble. We don’t have victories anymore. The American dream is dead,” he continues as clips show the Mexican team dominating its American counterpart.

The Trump campaign and Fox Soccer did not respond when asked whether the candidate had given the network permission to use his remarks.

Trump, however, popped up to say he'd be rooting for the hometown team with a tweet Friday afternoon.

"Good luck to the US Men’s National Team in tomorrow’s CONCACAF Cup vs. Mexico! It should be a great game!" he tweeted, linking to an article that showed the Fox Soccer ad.
