McDonnell: Health care lawsuit not 'political'

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell said Sunday his state's lawsuit over the recently passed health care law is not “political.”

On "Fox News Sunday," McDonnell, a Republican, said, “This should not be political." He added that “it’s about [the] finality that everybody wants because there’s disagreement about the underlying policy. Let’s let the U.S. Supreme Court say [whether it's] constitutional or not.”

U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson in Virginia struck down parts of the controversial health care package last week -- specifically the mandate to purchase insurance. McDonnell praised Hudson's decision on Sunday and called for the courts to "fast-track" the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Judge Hudson is right, and I certainly hope he’ll be vindicated by the Supreme Court as this moves along," McDonnell said.
